- The Furuno FMD-3200 ECDIS was launched in April 2012, alongside its sibling model, the FMD-3300. This new generation of ECDIS was designed to meet the mandatory carriage requirements phasing in from July 2012.
- The FMD-3200 is part of Furuno's FMD series of Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems. It is positioned as a highly functional ECDIS, offering a 19-inch LCD display, in contrast to the FMD-3300 which features a larger 23.1-inch or 27-inch LCD.
- The FMD-3200 is distinguished by its intuitive, task-based user interface, which provides quick access to operational procedures through intelligently arranged graphic elements like the Status Bar and InstantAccess Bar. It also boasts an advanced chart drawing engine for instantaneous chart redraw, eliminating latency during zooming and panning.
