Description
1,500 bar diesel pump unit for marine tank and hull cleaning
Did you know
- Hughes Pumps has been manufacturing high-pressure water jetting equipment in the UK since 1970. In 2023, Hughes Pumps modified its pump model descriptions to better reflect their performance ratings, with models like the HPS400 becoming HP40.
- The HPS1536 is part of Hughes Pumps' range of high and ultra-high pressure water jetting units. The company offers pumps in six frame sizes, from 30kW/40hp (HP40) to 375kW/500hp (HP500), with maximum pressures up to 2800 bar (40,000 psi) and flows up to 800 lpm (214 gpm). Other models in their HPS series include the HPS650, HPS1000, HPS2200, HPS3000, and HPS5000.
- Hughes Pumps are known for their robust design, often featuring solid ceramic or carbide plungers and an integral built-in gearbox for efficient speed reduction. The low crankshaft speed and short stroke contribute to a very low plunger velocity, which significantly increases packing life, with some units routinely seeing 500 to 1000 hours of life from the packings at 40,000 psi.
| Model | Max Pressure (bar) | Max Flow (lpm) | Power (kW) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hughes HPS1536 | 1500 | 36 | 75 |
| Hughes HPS1000 | 1000 | 72 | 75 |
| Hughes HP170 | 3000 | 30 | 127 |
