The Streamlight Survivor LED was introduced on September 1, 2006, as the next generation of their right-angle flashlight, incorporating LED technology into an existing product line. An updated version of the Streamlight Survivor, the Survivor X, was launched in June 2022, offering enhanced brightness and new features.
The Survivor LED is a right-angle, hand-held light designed for hazardous environments, sitting alongside other specialized lights like the Knucklehead, which is a work light with an articulating head. Both the Survivor LED and Knucklehead models can utilize the same rechargeable batteries and chargers.
The Survivor LED is chosen for its ability to produce a super-bright beam that effectively pierces through smoke, a critical feature for firefighters and emergency professionals. Its design includes a low-profile bezel to prevent interference with gear and a strong clip with a D-ring for secure, forward-hanging attachment.
