The Megger MIT420 is part of the MIT400 series, which replaced the earlier BM400 insulation tester range. The MIT400/2 series, including the MIT420/2, features a redesigned case and enhanced capabilities compared to the original MIT400 instruments.
The MIT420/2 sits in the upper-middle of the MIT400/2 series of insulation testers. It offers more advanced features than the MIT400/2 and MIT410/2, such as variable test voltage and internal result storage, but lacks the Bluetooth downloading capability found in the top-of-the-range MIT430/2.
The MIT420/2 is chosen for its combination of comprehensive insulation testing capabilities, including Polarization Index (PI) and Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR) tests, with the added flexibility of a user-variable test voltage and on-board storage for test results.
