The Hioki PW3198 Power Quality Analyzer was launched in April 2011 as Hioki's flagship power quality analyzer.
The PW3198 is positioned as a high-end power quality analyzer, offering advanced features for detailed power supply anomaly monitoring. It is a more comprehensive power quality analyzer compared to power loggers like the Hioki PW3360 series, which primarily focus on energy consumption and load profiles. Hioki later released the PQ3198 in March 2019 as a revamped successor to the PW3198, incorporating updated functionality and specifications.
The PW3198 is chosen for its ability to verify power problems in accordance with the IEC61000-4-30 Class A standard, offering high accuracy and continuous, gapless recording of power supply anomalies. It can simultaneously record over 8,000 parameters, including voltage, current, power, harmonics, and flicker, and is capable of measuring high-order harmonic components up to 80 kHz.
