The HiMSEN H17/28 is part of Hyundai's HiMSEN (Hi-Touch Marine & Stationary ENgine) family, which was developed after 10 years of research and development and first went into production in 2001. More powerful variants, the H17/28U(E) series, were introduced in November 2011.
The H17/28 is the smallest medium-speed engine in the HiMSEN lineup, designed for marine auxiliary applications and stationary power plants. It sits below models like the H21/32 and H25/33 in terms of bore and stroke.
The H17/28 is chosen for its compact structure, high power density, and ability to run on heavy fuel, offering flexibility and space-saving benefits for marine applications. It also boasts excellent performance, low fuel consumption, and reduced emissions, meeting IMO Tier II regulations.
