The MAN L35/44DF CD is an enhanced version of the L35/44DF CR engine, which was initially launched in 2015. The Type Approval Test for the L35/44DF dual-fuel engine was successfully completed in May 2025.
The L35/44DF CD is positioned as a versatile auxiliary generator set within MAN Energy Solutions' four-stroke engine program, designed for both auxiliary generator sets and electric propulsion. It builds upon the proven platforms of the MAN 35/44DF CR and MAN 32/44CR engines.
This model is chosen for its high power output of 560 kW per cylinder, dual-fuel flexibility (including readiness for methanol), and significant reduction in methane slip by up to 85% compared to industry standards. It also features an adaptive combustion control system for optimal fuel injection and reduced emissions.
