Investigate the cause of increased boiler water supply flow by comparing it with past operating data at similar conditions. Identify and address any underlying issues affecting water consumption.
Solenoid valve is not operating correctly
Check each solenoid valve to ensure it is working properly as required. Confirm there are no leaks around the solenoid valve or instrument air line.
Safety valve is leaking steam below set point
Check for any leak sound from the safety valve when steam pressure is below the set point. If a leak is detected, inspect and repair the safety valve.
Safety valve internal movement is not smooth
When the boiler is stopped, pull the hand lever to check if the valve internal moves smoothly. If not, inspect and service the safety valve internals.
General valve gland packing or bonnet gasket is leaking
Check for any leaks from the gland packing or bonnet gasket of the general valve. Replace the gland packing or bonnet gasket as needed.
