- Mercer Valve Company was founded by Wesley Taylor, introducing its first valve line, the 8100 Series, in 1985. The 9100 Series, an industrial pressure relief valve, was introduced in 1991, and the 9100 Series Model 20, designed for high-pressure service, was added in 1995.
- The Mercer Valve PV Valve is designed for road and rail tankers, offering protection against volume changes, pressure, vacuum, and over-filling. The 9100 Series, which includes threaded and flanged versions, is a conventional pressure relief valve, while the 9500 Series consists of pilot-operated valves, including snap and modulating pilot options.
- The Mercer PV Valve provides protection against normal volume changes, pressure, vacuum, and over-filling during transportation and operation on road and rail tankers. It incorporates a dwell time in its pressure relief function to minimize on-road leakage caused by product surge. Additionally, it can be fitted with an EU 5 level filter kit for protection against contaminated air, particularly for food products, and is compatible with internal Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems.
