- The System Sensor 5251P is part of the 5251 series of intelligent thermal sensors. The 5251P and 5251RP heat detectors were introduced around 2000 as successors to the 5551B and 5551R models.
- The 5251P is a fixed-temperature heat detector within System Sensor's 5251 series, which also includes the 5251RB (rate-of-rise with fixed temperature) and the 5251H (high-temperature fixed).
- This model is chosen for its intelligent thermistor sensing circuit, providing a fast response to heat. It offers open area protection with a 50-foot spacing capability and includes dual LEDs for 360° visibility of its status.
