- The JRC JCY-1900 is JRC's fourth-generation Voyage Data Recorder (VDR), introduced in line with revised VDR performance standards that came into force on July 1, 2014, and revised EPIRB performance standards effective July 1, 2022. JRC has been involved in VDR development since 2001.
- The JCY-1900 is an upgrade replacement for the JRC JCY-1700 VDR and succeeds the JCY-1800 model. It is positioned as the full VDR model, while the JCY-1950 is a variant designed as a Simplified Voyage Data Recorder (S-VDR) with a single capsule.

MCB’s LED (SYS or REC) does not turn on
Turn on the RCU’s POWER switch. If the AC-line fuse is blowing out, replace it with a spare fuse after stopping power supply to the RCU. Check the switchboard if power supply is not supplied from it. If the PSU is breaking down, contact a sales representative.
OPU’s screen is not displayed
Adjust the screen brightness using the rotary knob. Check the OPU’s operating time; if it exceeds 50,000 hours, replace the OPU and contact a sales representative. If power is not supplied to the OPU, check the LAN cable and reboot the RCU.
OPU can’t operate
If the rotary knob function is in operation mode, push the HOME button on the OPU. If the rotary knob is breaking out, replace the OPU and contact a sales representative.
LCD screen became dark
Adjust the screen brightness using the rotary knob. Check the OPU’s operating time; if it exceeds 50,000 hours, replace the OPU and contact a sales representative.
Data recording stopped (Error code 001)
Follow the directions of relevant authorities to restart data recording. Refer to the procedure for stopping or restarting recording.
Blackout (Error code 002)
Check the switchboard. Turn on the POWER switch. Check the AC line fuse in the RCU; if blown, replace it with a spare fuse.
Battery low voltage (Error code 003)
Check the RCU's built-in battery. Turn on the POWER switch and charge the battery.
FAN failure in RCU (Error code 004, 005)
Replace the fan. Contact a sales representative.
Battery failure (Error code 006)
Replace the battery. Contact a sales representative.
Battery high temperature (Error code 007)
Check the temperature of the RCU's installation location. Reboot the RCU and verify normal operation; if the problem persists, contact a sales representative.
