Description
Shunt-excited analog AVR, mid-range marine gensets.
Did you know
- The Stamford SX440 is a half-wave phase-controlled thyristor type Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) that is part of the excitation system for brushless generators.
- The SX440 has been directly replaced by the AS440. It is an older, lower-power variant compared to the SX460, designed for smaller alternators (up to 63 kVA).
- The SX440 is chosen for its ability to maintain generator output voltage within specified limits, compensating for load, speed, temperature, and power factor. It also includes under-speed and sensing loss protection features.
| Model | Sensing Input Voltage (AC) | Output Current (Continuous DC) | Voltage Regulation |
|---|---|---|---|
| SX440 | 190-264V (1 phase, 2 wire) | 4A | +/- 1% |
| AS440 | 190-264V (1 phase, 2 wire) | 4A | +/- 1% |
| MX341 | 140-220V (3 phase, 3 wire) | 2.7A | +/- 1% |
