- The Stamford MX450 Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) is a half-wave phase-controlled thyristor type AC regulator. It is part of the excitation system for brushless generators.
- The MX450 is part of Stamford's range of AVRs that are used with alternators excited by a Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG), alongside models like the MX321 and MX341. It is designed for generators with a power output greater than 150kW.
- The MX450 ensures positive voltage build-up from residual levels through efficient semiconductors in its power circuitry. It provides closed-loop control of the output voltage with a load regulation of +/- 1.0%, compensating for load, speed, temperature, and power factor. The MX450 also includes under-speed and sensing loss protection features.
