- The Stamford SA465 Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) was introduced by Newage International Limited, with documentation dating back to at least 2003. It is a half-wave phase-controlled thyristor type AVR, designed using Surface Mount Technology (SMT).
- The SA465 is an analog AVR within the Stamford range. It is considered an earlier model, with the AS440 often serving as a direct replacement and upgrade.
- The SA465 is chosen for its ability to provide closed-loop voltage regulation within +/- 1.5% for brushless generators, compensating for variations in load, speed, temperature, and power factor. It also features under-frequency protection and the capability for parallel running with other similarly equipped generators through a droop CT connection.
