The Stamford MA330 Automatic Voltage Regulator was introduced around March 2019, building on the heritage of Newage and now Cummins Generator Technologies.
The MA330 is a PMG-excited AVR within Stamford's range, distinguishing it from self-excited AVRs like the AS440, AS480, and SX460. It is designed for use with Stamford S0, S1, S2, S3, P0, P1, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7, HC, and HCI series alternators.
The MA330 utilizes Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) technology for its excitation power, providing an isolated and stable power supply to the AVR control circuits. This PMG configuration ensures consistent performance even during short circuits or when supplying highly distorted loads, and it employs pulse width modulation (PWM) for precise voltage regulation.
