The Stamford MX321-N, also known as the MX321, is an automatic voltage regulator (AVR) that is part of the excitation system for brushless generators. It is a genuine Stamford (Newage / Cummins Generator Technologies) product.
The MX321 is a PMG-excited AVR, distinguishing it from self-excited AVRs like the AS440 and AS480. It is considered one of Stamford's more advanced regulators, offering more features than the MX341.
The MX321-N is chosen for its precise voltage control in industrial applications, utilizing three-phase RMS sensing for superior regulation. Its Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) excitation system isolates the control circuits from non-linear loads and reduces radio frequency interference, while also providing sustained short-circuit current.
