The WinGD X82-D engine, a diesel engine, was introduced in June 2019 as part of WinGD's Generation-X engine portfolio. It builds on the proven technology of previous WinGD engines, including the X82-B.
The X82-D is part of WinGD's Generation-X engine portfolio, which includes a range of low-speed two-stroke diesel and dual-fuel engines. It is positioned for larger vessels, alongside the X40DF for smaller vessels and the X82DF dual-fuel engine. WinGD's X-engine series also includes the X52, X62, X72, and X92 diesel engines.
The X82-D is designed for high thermal efficiency, low fuel consumption, and high reliability, with a focus on reduced engine length and weight due to a shorter cylinder distance. It is also 'dual fuel (DF) ready,' allowing for an upgrade to operate with LNG.
