These engines build upon WinGD's heritage, which traces back to the Sulzer Diesel Engine business established in 1893 in Winterthur, Switzerland.
- The X35 is the smallest bore engine in WinGD's X-engine series, which ranges from 35cm to 92cm bore sizes. It is part of the 'B' versions of the smaller X-engines, which also include the X40-B, and features an extended rating field compared to earlier iterations.
- The X35 is designed for vessels requiring compact engine dimensions and a low engine room height, offering advantages for newbuilds where space is a premium. Its optimized bore-to-stroke ratio contributes to lower engine speeds for enhanced propulsion efficiency, while common-rail technology allows for flexible injection and exhaust valve control, leading to lower fuel consumption and smokeless operation across all speeds.
