Mitsui E&S has been manufacturing MAN B&W diesel engines since a technical partnership with Burmeister & Wain (now MAN Energy Solutions) began in 1926. The first Mitsui-MAN B&W diesel engine, a 6125M model with 950 BHP, was produced in 1928 and installed in the Mitsui-made ship 'Takamisan'.
The Mitsui-MAN B&W engine series represents Mitsui E&S's long-standing line of two-stroke main engines. With the establishment of Mitsui E&S DU in 2023, the company expanded its portfolio to include WinGD and MAN's four-stroke Pielstick engines, offering a broader range of propulsion solutions.
