- The MAN B&W ME-GI engine, a gas-injection, dual-fuel, low-speed diesel engine, was first publicly demonstrated in May 2011, building upon years of research and development that began in the 1990s with a prototype MC-GI dual-fuel engine. The S90ME-C9.2, a super-long-stroke, 90-cm bore Mk 9 engine, completed test bed trials in July 2012.
