The Intersleek 700, a silicone-based foul release coating, was introduced in 1999 by International Paint (now AkzoNobel) for deep-sea scheduled vessels.
The Intersleek 700 is an earlier generation silicone foul release coating within International's biocide-free Intersleek range. It succeeded Intersleek 425, which was designed for fast craft, and was later followed by the fluoropolymer-based Intersleek 900 and the slime-release Intersleek 1100SR.
Intersleek 700 provides a smooth, non-stick surface that reduces hull roughness and increases fuel efficiency by preventing marine organisms from attaching strongly. It is a biocide-free coating, making it an environmentally friendly option.
