Kansai Paint Marine was established in October 2001 as a joint venture. The company's Bioclean Foul Release coating system, developed by Chugoku Marine Paints, was introduced in 2004.
The Bioclean Foul Release system is a biocide-free, silicone-based foul release coating, distinguishing it from Kansai Paint Marine's Takata Quantum series, which is a silyl polymer hydrolysis type antifouling paint.
This coating is chosen for its environmentally friendly, biocide-free composition and its ability to reduce fuel consumption by creating an ultra-smooth surface that minimizes water friction. Its silicone technology creates a "micro phase separated structure" that prevents marine organisms from adhering effectively.
