- The SigmaGuard CSF 650 is a two-component, solvent-free, amine-cured epoxy coating. It was introduced as part of PPG Industries' expanded line of NOVAGUARD, PHENGUARD, and SIGMAGUARD CSF coatings for petrochemical and biofuel storage tank lining applications in the United States in June 2011.
- Within the SigmaGuard range, which offers various tank linings including pure epoxy, phenolic epoxy, and zinc silicate coatings, the SigmaGuard CSF 650 is positioned as a solvent-free, one-coat solution specifically for crude oil and aliphatic petroleum products. Other coatings in the broader PPG tank lining portfolio, such as NovaGuard and PhenGuard, offer solutions for more aggressive chemicals or higher temperature resistance.
- This model is chosen for its excellent corrosion resistance and its ability to provide one-coat protection for steel structures, ships, and storage tanks. Its solvent-free nature contributes to improved air quality and reduced fire/explosion hazards during application. It is also suitable for the storage and transportation of drinking water.
