- PPG acquired SigmaKalon, which included the Sigma Coatings brand, in 2008. The SigmaCover 525 itself was known as early as June 2012, and is now known as SigmaCover 555.
- The SigmaCover range consists of tough, durable epoxy coatings designed for corrosion protection in new construction and maintenance across various industries. SigmaCover 525 (now 555) is specifically an epoxy tie-coat for underwater anticorrosive systems, distinguishing it from general-purpose epoxy primers like SigmaCover 400 or high-build coatings like SigmaCover 456.
- Sigmacover 525 is a two-component, polyamide-cured epoxy tie-coat specifically formulated for underwater anticorrosive systems. Its key strengths include excellent water resistance and good abrasion and impact resistance, making it ideal as a final coat in such systems and providing strong adhesion for antifoulings.
