- The Devoe Coatings Bar-Rust 235 is a high-performance, multi-purpose, surface-tolerant, two-component chemically-cured epoxy semi-gloss coating. It has been marketed by Devoe, International, Ameron, and PPG, and was evaluated by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1984 under the sponsorship of the U.S. Maritime Administration.
- The Bar-Rust 235 is part of Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine's range of surface tolerant epoxy coatings. It is a versatile option within this family, designed for various applications including immersion service. The Bar-Rust 235V is an ultra-low VOC version of the Bar-Rust 235, offering similar performance with a lower volatile organic compound content. The Bar-Rust 236 is presented as a 'true universal coating' within the Bar-Rust family, emphasizing its broad resistance to cargo, chemicals, fuel, and solvents.
- The Bar-Rust 235 is chosen for its exceptional corrosion protection in both salt and fresh water immersion, as well as corrosive chemical environments. It also offers good adhesion to damp surfaces and can cure at temperatures below freezing.
