The PPG HI-TEMP 1027 coating was created by PPG Industries, with a product data sheet revision from September 2023. The PPG HI-TEMP 1027 HD, a next-generation version, was introduced to the North American market in February 2021.
The PPG HI-TEMP 1027 is a single-component, high-build, heat-resistant coating. Its sibling, PPG HI-TEMP 1027 HD, is a two-component system, offering enhanced wear resistance and designed for single-coat application with higher film thickness.
This coating is specifically engineered to prevent corrosion under insulation (CUI) and external stress corrosion cracking (ESCC) on carbon and stainless steel. It offers continuous temperature resistance up to 650°C (1200°F) and intermittent resistance up to 760°C (1400°F), with cyclic temperature resistance from -196°C (-320°F) to 540°C (1000°F).
